Dante, in full Dante Alighieri, (born c. May 21–June 20, 1265, Florence [Italy]—died September 13/14, 1321, Ravenna), Italian poet, prose writer, literary theorist, moral philosopher, and political thinker. He is best known for the monumental epic poem La commedia, later named La divina commedia (The Divine Comedy).Dante is known for establishing the use of the vernacular in literature at a time when most poetry was written in Latin, which was accessible only to the most educated readers. His De vulgari eloquentia (On Eloquence in the Vernacular) was one of the first scholarly defenses of the vernacular. His use of the Tuscan dialect for works such as The New Life (1295) and Divine Comedy helped establish the modern-day standardized Italian language. His work set a precedent that important Italian writers such as Petrarch and Boccaccio would later follow. The lists below can be found on this app that give some his main works:The Divine Comedy by Dante, Illustrated, Hell, Volume 01The Divine Comedy by Dante, Illustrated, Hell, Volume 02The Divine Comedy by Dante, Illustrated, Hell, Volume 03The Divine Comedy by Dante, Illustrated, Hell, Volume 04The Divine Comedy by Dante, Illustrated, Hell, Volume 05The Divine Comedy by Dante, Illustrated, Hell, Volume 06The Divine Comedy by Dante, Illustrated, Hell, Volume 07The Divine Comedy by Dante, Illustrated, Hell, Volume 08The Divine Comedy by Dante, Illustrated, Hell, Volume 09The Divine Comedy by Dante, Illustrated, Hell, Volume 10The Divine Comedy by Dante, Illustrated, Paradise, Volume 1The Divine Comedy by Dante, Illustrated, Paradise, Volume 2The Divine Comedy by Dante, Illustrated, Paradise, Volume 3The Divine Comedy by Dante, Illustrated, Purgatory, Volume 1The Divine Comedy by Dante, Illustrated, Purgatory, Volume 2The Divine Comedy by Dante, Illustrated, Purgatory, Volume 3The Divine Comedy by Dante, Illustrated, Purgatory, Volume 4The Divine Comedy by Dante, Illustrated, Purgatory, Volume 5The Divine Comedy of Dante Alighieri The InfernoThe Divine Comedy, Volume 1, HellThe Divine Comedy, Volume 2, PurgatoryThe Divine Comedy, Volume 3, ParadiseThe New Life (La Vita Nuova)The Vision of Dante A story for little children and a talk to their mothersThe vision of hell.Credits :All of the books under the terms of the Project Gutenberg License [www.gutenberg.org].
